This sample shows a certified translation by a member of the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario (ATIO). In Ontario, “Certified Translator” is a reserved title. Only ATIO members who have passed ATIO’s certification exam may use it, and only a Certified Translator, not an agency, can certify a translation. TheWordPoint assigns your documents to an ATIO Certified Translator in your language pair, who signs and stamps the translation.

What the sample shows:

• The translator’s name, certified language pair (German to English) and contact details
• Their ATIO membership number
• A signed translator’s statement that the translation accurately reflects the original
• The list of translated documents, here a German statement of earnings, and the date
• The translator’s seal and signature

IRCC accepts translations by a certified translator in good standing whose stamp or seal shows their membership number. Without one, the translation must come with a sworn affidavit. ATIO-certified translations are also used for Ontario government offices, courts, universities and professional regulators.
